Story
It started with a fed-up mum at the dinner table.
I was struggling with dinner. I wanted to sit down with my kids, enjoy a meal and actually talk to them, but somehow dinner had become one of the most stressful parts of the day. Screens were an easy distraction. Toys, books, stickers and colouring were everywhere. And none of it felt like it really belonged at the dinner table. I started looking for something I could buy that would help. Something that would keep little minds busy enough to make dinner easier, but not so busy that they stopped eating, talking and being part of the family. I couldn't find it. Around the same time, we'd discovered Where's Wally? and started playing Eye Spy. I realised there was something about those simple games that really worked. They gave kids something to look at, explore and talk about, without completely taking them somewhere else. So I decided to make my own. It started with some simple laminated sheets with pictures and things to find. And it worked. The kids were interested. They were looking, pointing, asking questions and making up stories. They were eating, talking and still connected to what was happening around the table. I'd found the sweet spot. Enough distraction to make dinner easier, but not so much that they disappeared from the table. That little idea became Tabletime. But I didn't want to stop at a placemat. I wanted to create well-thought-out, genuinely useful products for little people. Products that help them learn, build independence and feel confident at the table, while also making life a little easier for the grown-ups. That's where the rest of Tabletime came in. From our thoughtfully designed plates that help little hands scoop and serve independently, to our First Hold Cutlery that teaches little fingers where to go and how to hold their utensils properly. Every piece has been designed with a purpose. Because I know how quickly the stress of the day can spill into dinner. And if something we create can remove even a little bit of that stress, help a child learn something new, or turn a difficult dinner into a happier one, then it's doing its job. Tabletime is about making mealtimes easier, more connected and a little more enjoyable for everyone. Because dinner doesn't have to be perfect. Our Mission
At Tabletime, our mission is to bring families back to the table. Back to shared dinners. Back to conversation. Back to the kind of connection that happens when we slow down and truly see one another. We believe the table should be a safe place. A place for storytelling, creativity, imagination and expression. A place where children learn the fundamentals that shape them for life: how to communicate, how to listen, how to feel confident in their voice, and how to build a healthy relationship with food. This mission comes from my own upbringing, where sitting at the table together wasn't forced. It was simply the norm. It was connection without pressure. And that is what I hope to help families rediscover. We're also deeply committed to reducing plastic where we can. We know we can't eliminate it everywhere, but this is one place where we can make a difference. Our children don't need to be fed from plastic when better options exist. Tabletime products are designed to teach lifelong skills, encourage independence and transform dinner from a battleground into a moment of connection and enjoyment. No pressure. No force. Just connection. Because it is never just about the food.
